What will be the biggest game changer in cannabis cultivation in the coming years?

Some take-aways from GreenTech Amsterdam

This year's GreenTech was packed with visitors eager to experience the latest developments in the horticultural industry. It was fantastic to see the cannabis section has grown in size year after year.

The most important takeaway from this year's exhibition was the need for stable genetics. Many companies have F1 seeds and stable Tissue Culture readily available. For cannabis cultivation, this will be a game-changer. It also provides a clear picture of the industry's future path.

The huge number of cannabis production operations around the world has aided in the collection of previously unseen volumes of cannabis data. As a result, large quantities of minor cannabinoids have been discovered in some strains.

This has been done through selective breeding in GMP facilities with access to quality analytics. The data has also helped researchers better understand how to adapt existing horticulture technology to large-scale cannabis cultivation.

The cannabis industry's embrace of agricultural norms and practices is the beginning of a new epoch. There's still a long way to go, but "the art of cultivating marijuana" has come to an end, and "the science of cannabis production" has begun.
